Just like in the previous Super Smash games, Pokemon appear in battle when you find and use the Pokeball item. Here is a list of the currently know Pokemon in Brawl, and what they do.

Munchlax

Munchlax walks around and eats items. As soon as he sees one, he'll run to it and eat it. Seems to be more of an annoyance than help.

Groudon

Groudon comes out, takes up almost the whole stage and stands there. If he touches you, there is huge knockback, however.

Gardevoir

Gardevoir creates a circle-y force field around herself. It protects you from projectiles while you are inside of it.

Piplup

Piplup uses Surf, and drags whoever gets in it's way right off the stage.

Torchic

He uses Ember or something, and the fire surrounds him, doing good damage to whoever touches it.

Bonsly

You pick him up and throw him at people. Seriously.

Meowth

He uses Pay Day, and attacks people with that coin on his head.

Goldeen

Just like in the previous games, he comes out and splashes around uselessly.

Snorlax

He comes out and drops from the top of the screen, doing tremendous knockback to all characters.

Latias & Latios

They come out and fly back and forth very quickly, and do huge knockback to anyone that gets hit.

Kyogre

He comes out, floats to the top and uses Hydro Pump at the stage, doing knockback to any character that gets hit. You also get knockback damage, if you touch him.

Deoxys

He comes out, flies up, and uses Hyper Beam, doing enormous knockback and damage to whoever gets hit.

Electrode

Electrode comes out and causes a big explosion. However, sometimes he will fail to do anything. :(. He is basically the Smart Bomb in Pokemon form.

Weavile

Weavile uses "Quick Attack", and darts around the stage, doing damage to anyone who gets caught in his way.

Wobbuffet

Wobbuffet comes out, and stands there. if you run into him, you receive a large amount of damage and get knocked back.

Staryu

Staryu locks onto an opponent and begins rapidly firing stars at it.

Metagross

Metagross creates an earthquake that shakes the stage. If you are near him, you receive damage and get knocked upwards.

Togepi

Togepi uses Metronome, which will turn into either Night Shade, Leech Seed, Magnitude or Sing randomly.

Bellossom

Bellossom puts nearby opponents to sleep with Sleep Powder.

Suicune

Suicune shoots an Aurora Beam horizontally, doing good damage to those who get caught in the blast.

Gulpin will swallow any nearby opponent, chew them up, and spit them out, doing a great deal of damage.

Lugia

Lugia flies to the top of the screen and shoots a powerful Aeroblast at opponents, dealing excellent damage.

Ho-Oh

Ho-Oh flies up, and releases a huge ring of fire, seriously hurting anyone who gets caught in it.

Celebi

Celebi flies away, and leaves behind Trophies, Stickers, or CDs for you to collect.

Jirachi

Jirachi flies away, and might leave behind stickers for you.

Mew

Mew flies away, while dropping CDs for you to collect.

Entei

Entei shoots a massive column of fir upwards, doing massive damage to anyone near, or above Entei.

Chikorita

Chikorita shoots out Razor Leaves horizontally, hitting anyone in the line of fire.
