Ness, along with Lucas, represents the Earthbound franchise. He and Lucas are very similar, with only slight differences in their moves. For example, Lucas's PK Thunder passes through enemies, while Ness's does not. Also, Ness has the move PK Flash instead of PK Freeze. Ness is one of the few characters to appear in all 3 Smash games.
