In Diamond and Pearl, there is a trick where you can evolve pokemon that evolve by trading without having to trade (say that 327 times fast xD). To do this, follow these steps:

Put the pokemon you want to evolve up for trade on the GTS.
To be safe, ask for something like a Lv. 9 and under Dialga, so your Pokemon doesn't get traded away.
Trade another Pokemon. It doesn't matter what Pokemon, just trade something on the GTS.
Take out your Pokemon from the GTS. If done correctly, it should eveolve.

This has been 100% confirmed to work. It's great when you have no friends to trade with (;-;).
